How We Work
100% transparency. 100% of funds go directly to the community.
OUR PROMISE
Every pound, dollar and shilling reaches the children
At Mushunga Community Project we are committed to complete transparency with our donors. Our UK trustees volunteer their time, our team in Uganda live in the community they serve, and we don't carry expensive overheads. That's how 100% of your donation reaches the children.

DIRECT IMPACT
No expensive overheads, no middle-men
We don't have expensive overheads or administrative costs eating into donations. Our UK trustees volunteer their time, and our team on the ground in Uganda are deeply embedded in the community they serve.

This means 100% of your funds go directly to the children — to school fees, meals, uniforms, healthcare, and the day-to-day running of the orphanage and farm.
CHILD SPONSORSHIP
A direct relationship between a sponsor and a child
Our sponsorship program connects individual donors with specific children. Each sponsored child receives a home at the orphanage, education at Victorious Community School, daily meals, healthcare, and emotional support.

Sponsors receive regular updates about their child's progress — school reports, photos, and stories — so the relationship feels real, not transactional.

SUSTAINABILITY
A farm that feeds the children and funds the project
We invest in long-term sustainability through our farm program — growing coffee, maize and other crops, alongside livestock (bull fattening and chicken brooding). These activities generate income and food, reducing dependency on external donations over time.

The goal is a Mushunga that can stand on its own, where the farm covers a growing share of the running costs each year and donor support is freed up to expand the school and orphanage.
OUR FOUR PILLARS
How we turn donations into lasting change
Care & home
A safe family environment at the orphanage with food, healthcare, clothing and adults who know each child by name.
Education
Quality teaching at Victorious Community School from Grade 1, expanding one year at a time towards Grade 7.
Sustainability
Coffee, maize, bull fattening and chicken brooding on our farm — generating food and income for the project.
Governance
A UK-registered charity with an international board across four continents, providing oversight and accountability.
