THE MUSHUNGA FARM
From dependency to self-sufficiency
Our 9.5-acre farm plays a vital role in supporting the long-term sustainability of Mushunga Community Project. Every crop planted and every animal added contributes to reducing dependency on external donations and building food security for the children.
The land project — fundraised to 100% of its goal — secured the acreage that now grows coffee, maize, vegetables and pasture for our cattle. Additional land at the project has also been acquired.
CURRENT ACTIVITIES
What's growing on the farm
A mixed-use farm designed for both food security and long-term income.
Coffee planting
A long-term cash crop establishing reliable future income for the project.
Bull fattening
Five bulls have been purchased to strengthen our livestock programme.
Chicken brooding
Building poultry capacity for eggs, meat and additional income.
Maize & corn
Improving food supply for the children and reducing external food costs.
Vegetables
Grown both for sale at market and for the children's daily meals.
Borehole water
A clean water source secured at the farm, also serving the orphanage.
“The farm now supports cattle, chickens, coffee beans, maize and other vegetables — both for sale and for the project itself.”
— MARTYN, BOARD CHAIRMAN
Why this matters
These are not just agricultural activities — they are investments in stability. The farm's productivity and future income potential will help ensure Mushunga can continue serving underprivileged and vulnerable children in Uganda for generations to come.

Every kilo of maize harvested, every chicken raised and every coffee bean sold reduces our dependence on external donations and brings us one step closer to a fully self-sustaining mission.
