LOOKING AHEAD
The next chapter for Mushunga
Mushunga Community Project continues to grow, and with that growth come new needs and opportunities. As Board Chairman Martyn has noted, 2026 will be a pivotal year for building projects and additional classrooms.
OUR PRIORITIES
Our biggest goals for the years ahead
Orphanage expansion
A top priority — expanding dormitory and boarding capacity so we can welcome more orphaned children into the safety of the Mushunga family. Right now, limited space means not every sponsored child can live on-site.
Education to Grade 7
Expanding VCS by one grade per year, with the classrooms, teachers and books required to deliver.
Water to the school
Extending the borehole pipeline through neighbouring land so the school enjoys full clean-water supply.
Permanent solar power
Replacing the current inverter solution with a reliable, sustainable solar installation.
Farm expansion
Growing our coffee, livestock and crop production for greater self-sufficiency and income.
Community outreach
Continuing to support our wider Mushunga family with homes, mattresses, mosquito nets and food.
More children welcomed
As facilities grow, opening our doors to even more orphaned and vulnerable children.
TOP PRIORITIES
Expanding the orphanage to welcome more children
One of our greatest priorities is space. Demand for a safe, loving home far exceeds our current dormitory capacity, which means not every sponsored child in our programme is able to live at the orphanage today.
Expanding the orphanage — more dormitories, more beds, more bathrooms and more communal space — will allow us to bring more orphaned and vulnerable children into the full-time care of the Mushunga family, giving them the protection, stability and daily love every child deserves.
“2026 will be an important year for building projects and additional classrooms - to ensure we continue to deliver on our promises to the local community.”
